PRiPAs Research Project – Psycho-Social Risks, Occupational Prevention, and Occupational Safety in Germany
Project Duration: 2025 - 2028Field of Work: Innovations in Healthcare and Nursing Care, Ongoing Project

The project “PRiPAs – Psycho-Social Risks, Workplace Prevention, and Occupational Safety in Germany,” funded by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, analyzes current data on occupational safety with a focus on dealing with psychosocial risks. The aim is to gain insights into the measures and courses of action taken by German companies, as well as their dissemination and framework conditions. The project examines the role played by risk assessment, occupational safety organization, and specific company characteristics (e.g., size, industry) in the implementation of protective measures.
Based on representative workplace surveys (GDA workplace survey, BAuA SME survey, and European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER)), the study also analyzes how prevention practices have developed over time. Another focus is on examining EU-wide trends and differences in dealing with psychosocial risks.
The project aims to describe occupational prevention practices in detail, analyze trends over time, and examine the influence of political and legal frameworks in order to create a sound basis for future occupational safety measures.
